Yesterday, a crowning internet achievement after a having made contact via several e-mail exchanges, we were able to get together with a recreational adventure speleo-exploration group from Rome as our guests here in Naples. Seeing their interest in speleological exploration we quickly found out we were all on the same wave length! We were delighted to act as tour guide for the visiting group who had driven down from Rome, taking them on a winding tour in the tunnels connected to the ancient Carmignano aqueduct beneath Piazza Cavour. We were very pleased to see their delight and surprise at the wonders beneath our city. Our compliments and admiration go to 80 year old, "Grandpa Ciro", who was part of the group, certainly breaking the record . . .
for the oldest explorer to visit our amazing "Parallel City" beneath Naples. He is fourth from the left on the top row with the blue hard hat. This group of hobbyists has a nice web site, all in Italian, but you still might like to take a look: speleonauti.com Translated by Larry Ray
