Yet another bunker emerges from the ruins of history, this one along the roadside of via San Nullo in Licola. It was uncovered quite by chance along the road that leads to our (Nug) new offices in Cuma in the Campi Flegrei.
The bunker is a small circular fortification in reenforced cement and is similar to the one we found some years ago on via Venezia in Marano in Naples, an extension of via San Nullo. Both structures are clearly of German construction and both served to guard the Licola beach road (a road that with its long beaches might well have served as an invasion point for Allied forces) leading to centers of population within the provinces of Naples and Caserta.
Cordinates of the bunker: UTM WGS84 33 T 421102 4525485 – altitude above sea level: 9 meters
