Description: The Astroni crater is 250 hectares (617 acres) within a 6.5 km/4 mile perimeter. It is one of the most recent volcanoes in the Camp Flegrei. It was a Royal Hunting preserve during the period of the Bourbons. Today it is a World Wildlife Foundation Oasis and the seat of a Center for Environmental Education.
