After more than eight years we have decided to suspend transmissions on the WebTV Napoli Underground Channel. There are various reasons for this, one of which is that those who run the LiveStream service have also suspended operations; as well, there has been a general decline of interest in such transmissions. We are nevertheless proud of the fact that we were the first in the field of speleology to have recognized the potential of this mode of communication, providing a model for others to follow. There was direct live streaming of congresses on both man-made and natural cavities, interviews and, last but not least, the 1st International Festival of Caving Documentaries. That festival saw the participation of entries from various parts of the world and was so successful that it, too, was a model for associations and federations at an international level. Thus we remain proud of having been leaders in the field in the best tradition of the discipline of speleology and in a spirit of utmost cooperation.
For those interested in the opinions of third parties, we recommend an article (in Italian) from 2009 by Andrea Scatolini, "No You Tube ma WEB TV: Napoli Underground Channel" which we have loaded into our forum. Pleasant reading.
P.S. To see all of our videos as well as those by others that we then transmitted, you can avail yourselves of our Napoli Underground YouTube channel or the single "Video" playlist that we have on our site (see the dropdown "Video" link in the menu bar at the top of the page beneath the Napoli Underground main logo on the home page). Pleasant viewing.
