CNSAS, The National Alpine Cliff and Cave Rescue Corps now reports that it has successfully brought an injured caver to the surface from a depth of 600 meters in the Sa Conca Manna e' Locoli grotto near the town of Siniscola near Nuoro on the island of Sardinia. The operation took 48 hours and employed 50 personnel specialized in line rescue, obstacle clearance, underwater cave rescue and in-cave medical care. The 7-member obstacle clearance team arrived from Milan on a plane provided by the Italian Air Force.
